WE mainly rely on narration of all lessons and selected copywork to teach the arts of language at the upper grammar level. There are several vintage English books that are sometimes helpful. We especially like Emma Serl's Primary Language Lessons and the Elson series, in addition to the Classical Primers: Autumn, Winter, and Spring. There is lots of overlap, so we pick and choose what we need. I have recently found the Memoria Press study guides for literature and have chosen Farmer Boy and The Moffats for this level of study.
